Double Extended Trip At The GOMH

19.5" Rocket Shad

3:00-7:45PM GOMH SW
48-51℉, Cloudy some drizzle, 5-10mph NE
Water is very high falling

Todd dropped off the pontoon today. I went to the lake place and got a rake and a landing net. I cleared some dead fish and slop before fishing. Somebody had a minnow trap hanging from the SW corner of the culvert. I got a couple of 4lb jumpin' bullheads to start. A mom and gram showed up with two boys to teach them magnet fishing. They each caught something. After they left, some teens showed up. I broke off the Wing It Bobber rig about a yard above the bobber when I was fighting a fish that felt like a panfish. I saw the bobber and caught the rig on my first cast; it was out there quite a way. The teens applauded me when I landed a 3lb jumper. They left. Federal Ammo Dave showed up with his posse and started on the N bridge. I got a couple of Gator Bullheads and lost a big Orange Bullhead that I thought was a bass by the way it pulled; the big gill dove under a small dead dogfish and into the cattails and got off. Dave's posse came to the S side of the bridge as it started to rumble in the distance. One of Dave's guys got a silver as I was packing up. I was gone before it began to rain. I shot my report video when I got home from the car in the rain. It was a short storm. The power went off at the lake place. I noticed on the radar that the heavy stuff missed us but bullseyed on P/S.

Dang Lure Thief's

21" Panfish Chatterbait
5:15-7:30PM
Conditions:  Mostly sunny turning cloudy, light wind, temps in the mid 50's. Light flow into Sullivan.

It was such a nice night out I stayed out late.  Had swans and geese flying around and over head.  I started out on the SW side and had a toothy steal my Panfish Chatterbait.  Then I caught this fish:
20.5" Cubby Mini-Mite w/minnow
Got it on white Cubby with a minnow.  I switched over to the NE side.  I was watching a truck turn around when I got a bite and missed it.  I put a new minnow on and the truck stopped on the SW side.  The guy came over and while we were talking I had a fish steal my Cubby leaving my Wing-It Bobber adrift.  I was able to get the bobber back casting a Frenzy Minnow with some floating weeds.  The guy left.  I got the toothy in the first picture on the Panfish Chatterbait.  That was the last bite I got.

Here's what the GOMH looked like tonight.

Panfish Chatterbait Ends Drought

15" Panfish Chatterbait w/minnow
6:30-9:00PM
Conditions: Warmer, breezy out of the SSE, mostly sunny.

I re-organized some rods today.  Took the Panfish Chatterbait off of my small panfish rod and put it on my Loomis 782 GLX spinning rod.  I put a new Wing-It Bobber on the Cubby Rod and on my small panfish rod with a Glow Demon.

When I arrived at the GOMH tonight I was surprised no one was there fishing from shore.  There were two boats on the S side and one taking off on the N.  I  went down on the SW corner and discovered it was darn windy.  One of the boats left.  I didn't get anything and went to the NE side.  I think I had a really small pike on for a couple seconds.

Around 7PM I left to try at Rock.  I started by throwing my Panfish Chatterbait tipped with a minnow.  It wasn't easy to throw in the wind, but I managed to get 3 bass on it (15",14",12.5").  The wind calmed down a little and a guy and girl came and fished for about 10 minutes.  He had gotten a pike at the GOMH.  I had what I assume was a pike break off a Cubby about 5 minutes after the couple left.  I might have had one bite when using the lighted bobber, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
