I shined two golden bullheads on the Platte side and one bullhead in the rocks on the Sully side.<br /><br />3 Slabber Bullheads</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-53966012773400704162024-03-09T03:21:00.059-06:002024-03-10T03:39:22.415-05:00Ice Off Platte & I Got Two Gators @GOMH<p> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIS11KYPaL9mSJH6S1USt6HWxYGm0ru9HWc5NysTM1z4aLk8rdouDGhlvMInl9gNHQJBIDzb1OSwK_cOBaGulrJWCTQutDWqH4I0qK1mOOlc-JD2t93dzgxrxga3KSEC0mcMXTNvht5iOic-OPy_j0ON3SsDHbGZOvENntejMH3t8NhQEX2qoQ/s3088/IMG_9558.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3088" data-original-width="2316" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIS11KYPaL9mSJH6S1USt6HWxYGm0ru9HWc5NysTM1z4aLk8rdouDGhlvMInl9gNHQJBIDzb1OSwK_cOBaGulrJWCTQutDWqH4I0qK1mOOlc-JD2t93dzgxrxga3KSEC0mcMXTNvht5iOic-OPy_j0ON3SsDHbGZOvENntejMH3t8NhQEX2qoQ/w300-h400/IMG_9558.JPG" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">First of two min-gators</td></tr></tbody></table><br /></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3K57cwRMF-wxl2O457X4s7o_A-R3H8HAoEjcAgj4MVJbHnxVSwQEQRakIX2QyIB65JqEG_Ab8mVfDMIlayPrSQ2htDm9A6k1vRsUTqCACEwOyhTVSohowvw74sWg_8QlV41Xm5ojSD5QjX-1Nygk0o3ruS9aLnX3wZXmfiBvV7dCvfQYzWQKx/s4032/IMG_9551.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2594" data-original-width="4032" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3K57cwRMF-wxl2O457X4s7o_A-R3H8HAoEjcAgj4MVJbHnxVSwQEQRakIX2QyIB65JqEG_Ab8mVfDMIlayPrSQ2htDm9A6k1vRsUTqCACEwOyhTVSohowvw74sWg_8QlV41Xm5ojSD5QjX-1Nygk0o3ruS9aLnX3wZXmfiBvV7dCvfQYzWQKx/w400-h258/IMG_9551.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Clicking will show the ice line</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgne9m1J3wnU4FCTV2UKmsjpqvkLNRIlUta9vNaBZX5x3smUExXo8Bi4l_6fvPIm0rKqxMHyfgO9ahGn0zEwEx48XqGVvk_P-4G7osOm9NQxfFNXEuzdHKFSCsJKQ8kVMPx1KoOzayWMDndnhGlWXW5QYCII8QQfR41sKD6bLNTFuNRXwkH-AGM/s4032/IMG_9555.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgne9m1J3wnU4FCTV2UKmsjpqvkLNRIlUta9vNaBZX5x3smUExXo8Bi4l_6fvPIm0rKqxMHyfgO9ahGn0zEwEx48XqGVvk_P-4G7osOm9NQxfFNXEuzdHKFSCsJKQ8kVMPx1KoOzayWMDndnhGlWXW5QYCII8QQfR41sKD6bLNTFuNRXwkH-AGM/w400-h300/IMG_9555.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjftldNMBugx0g7cBRLHHRdzYhm29eRl4hSHh5J9DkQ3eTpSOTGax167nES5VVorl1sk2s-SMJmSXzFuDdqmjDfAQDDFEVO6FPxXYDvNbVrSHxf4UBiiYTVzDG6Dg9iII6mMUwfEHlRQ0TIg067R4AtGpMyIuBPtRG3tmZjL4N-__FdXo1LaVGp/s3533/IMG_9552.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2290" data-original-width="3533" height="259" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjftldNMBugx0g7cBRLHHRdzYhm29eRl4hSHh5J9DkQ3eTpSOTGax167nES5VVorl1sk2s-SMJmSXzFuDdqmjDfAQDDFEVO6FPxXYDvNbVrSHxf4UBiiYTVzDG6Dg9iII6mMUwfEHlRQ0TIg067R4AtGpMyIuBPtRG3tmZjL4N-__FdXo1LaVGp/w400-h259/IMG_9552.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">ice at the Platte Lake Access</td></tr></tbody></table>5:10-6:45 PM Rock & GOMH<div>30-34℉, Sunny, 3-6mph NW</div><div><br /></div><div>Rock Report: There was still ice on the southern half of the lake. About 15' of ice is still at the access and a fair amount in Inlet Bay. I would be able to get a boat from the access to Jenny's so I'm calling ice out today. I had a small gator take a swipe at the Swim Shad right by the shore before I pulled it out of the water. A couple of casts later I had a hit across the channel in front of the cattails on the Swim Shad, a small gator. I threw the gator on the far side of the beaver dam. I put Cubby/Minnow out and got hit just to the East of the Beaver Dam flotsam. I'm pretty sure this fish was smaller. It came off as I tried to beach it sending my rig up and around the bridge gating, ridiculous. I got things untangled and called it a night. There was still some ice at the NE Access on Sullivan. The Bonfire Crew was doing a controlled burn as I was leaving. I then drove to the Platte Public Access where there was still a bit of ice.</p><p>1Pike </p>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-63893712585704194762024-03-05T01:03:00.052-06:002024-03-06T01:16:20.860-06:00Did Not Fish<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKxyn5FrjQNvLFmsG_FZxBPxL50CRU1Pkvepea8llzUw7tdg91NRwK8qlZ9ldMdPQlofN_ZP8V-RL4s8sceljTtS1mWObROBcKFsk3Q5wjpyN1GgqZP1_DoJSA7IUqbFVA1LBISm0JtgcwRVVP2J7NN0nhvfXDDwBHdrq_DGqhOmt6i2n7w6e1/s4032/IMG_9527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1676" data-original-width="4032" height="166" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKxyn5FrjQNvLFmsG_FZxBPxL50CRU1Pkvepea8llzUw7tdg91NRwK8qlZ9ldMdPQlofN_ZP8V-RL4s8sceljTtS1mWObROBcKFsk3Q5wjpyN1GgqZP1_DoJSA7IUqbFVA1LBISm0JtgcwRVVP2J7NN0nhvfXDDwBHdrq_DGqhOmt6i2n7w6e1/w400-h166/IMG_9527.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyJ2HHl54DSlJeiGpasoU1erkQMFTDkOvJSKOjNKBWQlUUYPkt4zB8rqd65rc35yRgtdsqFv6MQMOQ1IzLgCZwov7ccsf8w0rhQ1wjHV0TckUWATfqPwbyVRnjLvLRr0DEtuHU2Vbg-Lq_hnf8HhHNWMNELjtZL049JdpeZMcoKX5qdag6-2K/s4032/IMG_9525.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAyJ2HHl54DSlJeiGpasoU1erkQMFTDkOvJSKOjNKBWQlUUYPkt4zB8rqd65rc35yRgtdsqFv6MQMOQ1IzLgCZwov7ccsf8w0rhQ1wjHV0TckUWATfqPwbyVRnjLvLRr0DEtuHU2Vbg-Lq_hnf8HhHNWMNELjtZL049JdpeZMcoKX5qdag6-2K/w400-h300/IMG_9525.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Dock Guy On The Right</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM7wdaYZCeFNCLTN38Bc-aCA2mJrNNkuy-XZ14pI4pv2j5Dk5nO3RaP2RbCJ0OA0rKL7EH2KDcjBvH4KLldZUGYL1jXJbWTIOg3rRmR0WgiM9Lu_VaIYJk7ceE1sW8GNz0ZHc6jIVNTTIW4zrIDfa_IstxXaKmR4lAKtvrWCcEwRVXreIj6KvS/s4032/IMG_9523.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2272" data-original-width="4032" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM7wdaYZCeFNCLTN38Bc-aCA2mJrNNkuy-XZ14pI4pv2j5Dk5nO3RaP2RbCJ0OA0rKL7EH2KDcjBvH4KLldZUGYL1jXJbWTIOg3rRmR0WgiM9Lu_VaIYJk7ceE1sW8GNz0ZHc6jIVNTTIW4zrIDfa_IstxXaKmR4lAKtvrWCcEwRVXreIj6KvS/w400-h225/IMG_9523.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Platte Lake Access</td></tr></tbody></table>It got cold last night and only made it to about 42 without much wind. I walked to the Storage Ranch and back, that was about all my legs could take today. I stopped at Bulldog and Rock, which looked similar to yesterday. I also drove North Platte Lake Drive. Platte is slightly more open than yesterday. Dock Guy was at the GOMH so I didn't fish, just chatted. I heard a red-wing blackbird. He didn't get any bites. I think Platte will probably be ice-free by tomorrow night; It is supposed to be in the high to mid 40's and windy out of the SE.<p></p>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-14185052611929041502024-03-01T00:41:00.052-06:002024-03-02T01:03:02.164-06:00Skunked at the GOMH On A Beautiful Evening<div style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I had to go get the Fish Trap first. When I got to the access I should have repositioned the car before unloading, which was a slow clown show. I turned my headlamp off after parking the car. The ice was cracking and groaning, which kept on until about 9AM. As I came around the corner to the PRO Bay there were a bunch of swans swimming and on the ice. I couldn't make out where my old holes were, but I had the Garmin 7 with so I was close. I was a rust bucket at first and visibility was terrible. I only got two crappies and only saw 3. Sunfish and perch were around. I saw 3 pike in the first set of holes. At 9AM I drilled a second set on the maidencane drop, right next to my previous holes. A pike came in quickly and bit the minnow, but I pooched the hookset. I then fished my way back to the access spying two pike, catching one in the last hole. The northern half of the access had standing water and the ice was getting soft. This will be my last trip of the 23/24 ice season.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">5Crip </div><div style="text-align: left;">6Pike </div><div style="text-align: left;">30Sun </div><div style="text-align: left;">12YP </div>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-32866599359348694562024-02-20T02:56:00.046-06:002024-02-21T03:22:59.379-06:001st Bullhead of 2024<p> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj18a-DvjAxdnv40kcBbEcHpel9t06VKYReLB-6t8j2DI2MDGKjlIEcWcouIjXfa4Gwgo4ukY4CAic66aKMdxQOqPhMwg7tBDdT6nlBEsKq8f49YiKMXAFo3IhdBeR3CFABQ_34FkPzVsjK1qoh9B7Ep3MRXcyJovJsuY2V4tYWALsMVt-qqtPp/s3088/IMG_9377.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3088" data-original-width="2316" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj18a-DvjAxdnv40kcBbEcHpel9t06VKYReLB-6t8j2DI2MDGKjlIEcWcouIjXfa4Gwgo4ukY4CAic66aKMdxQOqPhMwg7tBDdT6nlBEsKq8f49YiKMXAFo3IhdBeR3CFABQ_34FkPzVsjK1qoh9B7Ep3MRXcyJovJsuY2V4tYWALsMVt-qqtPp/w300-h400/IMG_9377.JPG" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">17" eBay Spin/Goat (Glow/Black/FC)</td></tr></tbody></table></p><div style="text-align: left;">5:15-6:15 PM GOMH SW </div><div style="text-align: left;">40-44℉, PC, 1-3mph S</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">It was a nice day, but I was too sluggish after getting up to get my ice fishing stuff together, but I did want to go fishing, so I did. I didn't mark much or have a bite in the first 45 minutes. The crappies did move in as the sun came up and I had a pretty good bite for about 35 minutes. Then sunfish with a few perch moved in. Only a couple of pike showed up. The second of which I saw after I had just set the hook on a sunfish; It flew into frame crushing the Gem-N-Eye. It was just a hammer handle and the only pike I caught. I got one 8' sunfish and saw maybe a couple of others. Eventually, I decided to switch holes. I dropped right on a pike that inspected my offerings but never went for them. There is not much in these holes. I fished my holes on the Maidencane break. A few perch and sunfish. I decided to fish my way back to the access along the reed weedline break hoping to find some bass. Didn't see anything in the first three holes. I think the 5th one had a nice pike take some shots but not hook up. I was sightfishing that guy with my eyes looking down the hole. I caught a bunch of perch in the final hole hoping a pike or bass might show up. It was a wet sloppy mess as I came in. I was the only person on Rock today. There were a couple of trucks at Bulldog. I also stopped at the GOMH.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">20 Crip </div><div style="text-align: left;">5 Pike </div><div style="text-align: left;">43 Sun </div><div style="text-align: left;">19 Perch</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br />Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-69397120405795331822024-02-05T02:48:00.056-06:002024-02-06T03:04:16.403-06:00Slow Night On Rock<div style="text-align: left;"> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6FDZpBm6rDeiT9d3r4zpC1msqr9Gupv1F_vE0PlUkj6mIlRy96pUj6zjD6CbWHFsAbLh1gkG0j7AKvsm5-shR8cLxwW60J0o4Rq1WtPk-K727tl6Ly_u1sPVeRfcSApZnyynTaKHHYHjcbnLucIbV5-BlRfL9pZve3ienGQwoLnSME_nvj3KH/s4032/IMG_9292.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6FDZpBm6rDeiT9d3r4zpC1msqr9Gupv1F_vE0PlUkj6mIlRy96pUj6zjD6CbWHFsAbLh1gkG0j7AKvsm5-shR8cLxwW60J0o4Rq1WtPk-K727tl6Ly_u1sPVeRfcSApZnyynTaKHHYHjcbnLucIbV5-BlRfL9pZve3ienGQwoLnSME_nvj3KH/w400-h300/IMG_9292.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia-Ut7gRMde5_x1EJWVpKR-8FN37V0zaPC8BQ2fpA7mpQTzuNofhckXrPXjnSMWlFq75xiO3VOr32mtgQM0XWcUCYoNI8bHx0-ZAkZSiBq5frB0ZsNUm4ub-g2cST1ZllB1mXeYl9kCIBj18gFvVCa8oHzvejg7CPWCZtGc1QpWCpeiRrhIBMI/s4032/IMG_9290.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia-Ut7gRMde5_x1EJWVpKR-8FN37V0zaPC8BQ2fpA7mpQTzuNofhckXrPXjnSMWlFq75xiO3VOr32mtgQM0XWcUCYoNI8bHx0-ZAkZSiBq5frB0ZsNUm4ub-g2cST1ZllB1mXeYl9kCIBj18gFvVCa8oHzvejg7CPWCZtGc1QpWCpeiRrhIBMI/w400-h300/IMG_9290.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">9' on Gem-N-Eye/minnow</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS-uTwsK1eWhJGe5-kUZN7mUmMGlu2-scMy0yUXSvf1VPKhBwjbxYpovMcoYGch_-foJlCcOG8d_m-ENYiS_g5ihSmT9sfrsSNND5q6V0Sz1tP_2n3X6y-npjgzPzwsV5vAOS3Rgk3D-VifByRCY_FWSYzyxnAVe2ljmK9kSPenwSE0YQT3haR/s4032/IMG_9288.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS-uTwsK1eWhJGe5-kUZN7mUmMGlu2-scMy0yUXSvf1VPKhBwjbxYpovMcoYGch_-foJlCcOG8d_m-ENYiS_g5ihSmT9sfrsSNND5q6V0Sz1tP_2n3X6y-npjgzPzwsV5vAOS3Rgk3D-VifByRCY_FWSYzyxnAVe2ljmK9kSPenwSE0YQT3haR/w400-h300/IMG_9288.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Potato Chip</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHi20pOeVKyrBRvBQvu3geGSOTHphcT7OIQ45ZyJUDGQGwmtRfUk3pyyZgWupYDNelfMhAvoyOGIYa_F2f1V_U7klvwRrm9JsB0GU7MCl06F6zU49hMm3eY97jqJiHKSydQTF6YVjzTczYThHEIBH8y6yY8BbliFMy0J-EIJcLWAf5RQCvk1GD/s2622/IMG_9279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1463" data-original-width="2622" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHi20pOeVKyrBRvBQvu3geGSOTHphcT7OIQ45ZyJUDGQGwmtRfUk3pyyZgWupYDNelfMhAvoyOGIYa_F2f1V_U7klvwRrm9JsB0GU7MCl06F6zU49hMm3eY97jqJiHKSydQTF6YVjzTczYThHEIBH8y6yY8BbliFMy0J-EIJcLWAf5RQCvk1GD/w400-h224/IMG_9279.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Two swans a swimming</td></tr></tbody></table><br /><div style="text-align: left;">4:50-7:30PM My Area Rock Lake</div><div style="text-align: left;">30-44℉, PC, 0-2mph S</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I got a late start because Dad went to Walmart today. My back was barking at me on the way out. I drilled new holes right by the old ones and one set of three to the North. I don't know why I only put one camera hole. The one where I put the camera hole was near the 8" Sunfish Hole. Unfortunately, not much showed up there before it was getting too dark to see. I ended up catching 5 sunfish. I did hole hop for about 15 minutes. I came back and the bobber was down, but nothing on it. I put another minnow on and caught a crappie about 5" minutes later right before I was going to move to the holes where I had marked fish. Nothing more showed up and it was now dark. I hole-hopped with the Fish Trap and didn't mark much. I ended at the first set. I ended my Fish Swami trip with a minnow down. Sure enough, I got a bite but missed it. I sent down another minnow and the Cubby, which immediately got jumped. Giving me two crappies for the trip. No more life. It was making ice. I slowly packed up. Plan to be out in the morning and if that doesn't work I'll have to formulate a new plan. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Oh yeah, open water at the PRO Opening narrows with Swans swimming and flying about.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">2 Crip </div><div style="text-align: left;">5 Sun</div><div style="text-align: left;">Saw a few small perch and sunfish on the Aqua-Vu </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-43322998054616364312024-01-29T01:42:00.083-06:002024-01-31T02:01:37.994-06:00Another Fun Morning Trip<div style="text-align: left;"><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; I had to drill out holes which was unexpected and made one new set as well. Total turtle time. Fishing was slow for the first half hour, and fish were small/missing bites. I had to re-rig to a Glow Demon and busted my line lowering a jig again. Eventually, the fish got active, and when I put the camera down, crappies were everywhere. That bite lasted until about 8 AM, then slowed down considerably. I did much better at landing fish than last trip, but still a lot of room for improvement.I switched back to the Gem-N-Eye after the first pike loitered through. It left and I actually got a crappie on the Gem. Saw two pike swim through. Not as many sunnies or perch around today. Finally, around 9:30 the pike started biting. I got the first couple on the Gem, then one dropping the Twitch to an immediate attack. Things slowed. I went to the new set of holes I drilled. I got a pike fairly quickly as well as a few sunnies. Saw a pair of pike for the second time and caught the bigger one (25"). I went to a third set of holes, not much there and the wind came up so I called it a day. Less sunfish but better size. I was often unprepared for those bigger gills as they came through. Fun trip. No bass.<br /><br />44 Crip </div><div style="text-align: left;">33 Sun </div><div style="text-align: left;">10 Pike </div><div style="text-align: left;">8 Perch </div>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-68833092585007861032024-01-27T03:40:00.093-06:002024-01-29T03:57:21.607-06:00Good Long Day On Rock<div style="text-align: left;"> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; Unfortunately, I broke the line while hand-lining down against the drag on my first drop with the Cubby. Switched to the THE Jig caught a couple. Sent a minnow down and got bit immediately. Then I missed a couple on the minnow. I had THE Jig get broken off above the swivel and that was it for the crappies. I put the camera down, a few sunfish then nothing. I went and hole-hopped. It was cloudy and below freezing. I found fish in a couple of holes, but nothing I was excited about. I got back to the Trap and a fish was running with my minnow. I was an idiot and didn't grab the rod and set the hook right away. The minnow was spit by the time I grabbed the rod. Sunfish, perch, and an occasional crappie or two were around so I never moved. When the panfish spit it meant a pike or two were around. I missed the first couple and lost a Glow Demon. I caught a couple hammer handles on the Glow Demon before switching out for a Gem-N-Eye Jig. I bopped perch to back down the hole. I watched it descend on the vex then a huge mark. I immediately looked at the camera and just saw a flash. A few seconds later the 28-inch pike came back for the Gem-N-Eye. I gave the fish to a guy who was setting up to the South of me. I stayed until the Aqua-Vu battery died with a 22.5" pike on screen. I managed to catch that fish on the Switch using the Vex. I would say about 35-40 people were fishing Rock and Bulldog today.<br /><br />15 Crip </div><div>7 Pike </div><div>55 Sun </div><div>20 perch</div><div><br /><br /><br /></div></div>Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-73062329284457455572024-01-26T01:09:00.064-06:002024-01-27T02:17:14.948-06:00I Was A Hot Mess At Prime Time<div style="text-align: left;"> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; None in my area. I talked to a guy who had been fishing the point getting crappies and a bunch of pike. Turns out visibility is ok before 4:30 PM. I saw a bunch of sunfish, a few crappies, and at least one pike. The pike missed THE Jig, but wouldn't go for the Switch. I lost the first crappie that I saw take my minnow. It was slow for a while. The bite was pretty good at prime time, but I was a complete mess trying to fish two lines. I should have just rode the minnow as it was getting dusted soon after I dropped it. I got a bullhead during prime time on the minnow as well. It was over by 5:45 and I struggled thereafter. I did lose a good fish when I didn't get the Cubby up fast enough and the lines got caught on the transducer. I did check the other holes after 7:30 with the Cubby, no life. At the end of the night, I went and drilled some more holes; It was sloppy. At the access, a female lake owner came along with her two dogs wondering if I had left stuff on the ice tonight. Weird question because she came from the opposite direction I did.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">32Crip </div><div style="text-align: left;">11Sun </div><div style="text-align: left;">1Pike </div><div style="text-align: left;">1Bull </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br />Basspastorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09111355231233505292noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10059869.post-30079246986079901382024-01-25T01:18:00.056-06:002024-01-27T02:16:12.524-06:00Ok Night At Rock<p></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiovaVdHu5mGLC-P9qk2JU39UvQ2OA3c3NstR_CSk9ismWe-YSs65gSFudI9_Q2gyhyv9C64NDLIYrqE7EO_-d7ZG7Bfw2GyaYlc0V2CrP7Bbduhm2VJLuI1ZNK8sUgS3VTHldc1FClTsq9tA4-xOQvHrT-pxW8jZw3jUG6_OQeLbxlxPm00qIw/s4032/IMG_9104.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiovaVdHu5mGLC-P9qk2JU39UvQ2OA3c3NstR_CSk9ismWe-YSs65gSFudI9_Q2gyhyv9C64NDLIYrqE7EO_-d7ZG7Bfw2GyaYlc0V2CrP7Bbduhm2VJLuI1ZNK8sUgS3VTHldc1FClTsq9tA4-xOQvHrT-pxW8jZw3jUG6_OQeLbxlxPm00qIw/w400-h300/IMG_9104.JPG" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">10" T.H.E. After an initial flurry of bites, the first set of holes died. I got one small crappie at the second set. There wasn't much life there. The third set had small fish and a 10 or so incher that came off at the hole sending THE into the cargo net. Missed several bites along the bottom. Ended in the first set of holes and stayed late. I did start pulling some small fish up in the water column and landing them. The last fish of the night was a gill. I'm gonna need more maggies. After I had my rods in the case I swear there was a pike that came through; Biggest mark I saw all night. I turtled it back to the car. Thank God there wasn't much wind; It was 3 °F.
