Morning And Evening Slow Fishing

16" Bobby's Perfect (Sparrow)

6:00-9:00AM NPBI Big Rice and 6LB Flat
65-52℉, MS, 0-4mph NE
70℉ LOw falling

Stopped at NPBI first getting a small pike on the SBKO orange. Then it was off to Big Rice Point where I spent the rest of the morning. Got 4 bass bites landing 3 (16, 16, 14) of them. Had a pike steal the orange SBKO for about 45-minutes or so. I spotted the lure once and the fish jumped several times trying to shake it which I could hear when it did. Finally, it broke free and fortunately it was where could see it when it did.

13.5" Bobby's Perfect (Sparrow)

6:30-9:15PM N Platte Lake Drive Pt, Starting Spot Rice, NW Juice
64-70℉, MS, 0-3mph NE
72-74℉ Falling Low

I spent an hour exploring from the North Big Island Channel to the Reeds in Inlet Bay. Didn't get a bite. The area is devoid of cabbage. It does have some coontail and northern milfoil and a bunch of carpetweed. I then hit the Cookie Jar area not getting anything until I was well past the Starting Spot. Got two small bass on two consecutive casts. The second got hooked in the tongue and wasn't going to make it so I took it for Jan. It wasn't happing so I went to the NW Juice. I got one pike there in the slop and a dink pike on the way out on the Horny Toad, disappointing. There was just no activity in the NW Juice. It looks great though.

Slow Warm Night With Todd

14.25" Big Sexy

15.5" BD Frog (Brown)

7:30-9:30PM Double Cane to Starting Spot
87-77℉, Mostly Sunny, Calm
79℉ Very Low

I planned to go out before Todd got here tonight, but the motor wouldn't start.  After changing batteries I lifted the hood and it turns out the turner thing was stuck and couldn't reach the flywheel. By the time I figured it out Todd arrived.   We started around Double Cane.  I lost a bass on the Sprinker beyond the reeds.  I missed a bite when we came back around to the Cane. I lost a bite on the rice/reed line. Finally I put the 15-incher in the boat on the rice edge in front of the starting spot on the BD Frog. I got a couple more 14-inchers along the rice edge on the SBKO.  I was lucky the first one didn't put a hook in my hand. It came off as I was lifting it in and the lure hit my hand at speed, but luckily it was the front of the lure that hit my hand. Todd got a pike on the Sprinker.  We moved to the NW juice. Todd got a small pike. I lost a 14-incher on the Craw Tube. Todd eventually got a couple bass on Big Sexy.

Solid Morning/Evening Frog Fishing

18.33" Craw Tube (Junebug)

The Wall Cloud

5:30-6:00AM NPBI
7:00-11:00AM SPSI, East of GOMH Rice, East of SP Reeds
74℉, Cloudy to PC some light rain, 0-6mph SE S SW

I went to NPBI first.  Unbeknownst to me, a front was moving in and I moved like a turtle catching one small bass on the Craw Tube. I decided to head back in rather than get poured on. It didn't really pour, but I'm glad I didn't stay out.

I headed to SPSI and nothing took topwater. I did get 4 bass on the Junebug craw tube (18.33, 16.5,14, 13.75) I then went to explore the rice East of GOMH.  I caught 2 bass (14.5,16.5) in 6 casts and left the area heading back along the rice toward SPSI. I wanted to leave the juice for Todd and me this weekend. I hit the SPSI one more time getting the 13.75" already referenced. I then went to the reeds and had a blowup that didn't hook up. I converted the 15.5" on the craw tube. I also got a pike in the reeds. Not a fast morning by any means, but the quality was OK.

16.5" Sprinker

7:30-9:30PM Channel Inn Bay
78-84℉, Mostly Sunny, 0-3 SW
79℉ LOw

There was a lot of activity in the CIB tonight.

I missed the first bite when a big fish jumped over the BD Big. Think it was a bass, but could have been anything even a carp, probably not a carp.  I then missed my next two bites in boat lanes. I then got bass (14.5, 16) on two consecutive casts out in the isolated pads and rice on the Sprinker. I got 3 more bass (16.5,15.5,13.75) on the Sprinker and 2 bass (16.5, 13.5) on the black/red Terminator Frog.  I also got a pike on the Sprinker as I was coming out. I had worked my way just past the last boat channel which is way back in there. Not a bad night, no giants, and I missed a few. The hooking percentage on the Sprinker was very good I maybe missed one fish that committed.

Nothing to Start, Got a Few By the End

17.25" 3lbs SBKO (Orange)

7:30-9:30PM Loon Sex Bay,  SPSI
80-86℉, Mostly Cloudy, 6-9mph SE
77-79℉ Water level low and rising

I got the motor back on the boat with Steve's help then went home to get my rods and tackle. I started on Loon Sex Point and didn't get a sniff.  Finally, I had a pike miss me in the boat channel. I worked my way North and got a pike on a Junebug craw tube after it missed the frog.  I missed a couple bites in the pads along the north shoreline.  The second time it was a good-sized bass 3+??? maybe. I ended up getting one 15-inch bass on the Craw Tube. It looked like it might rain, but it didn't.  I headed to the South point of the small island.  Didn't get a hit on the Rat Plopper.  Got hit immediately by 16.5" larry on the other side of the marker jug.  I put the next cast by the reeds and had the 17-incher pop it.  I then got a 15" and 15.5" over by the reeds. I did miss a fish that hit the Vet Chatter. I tried the NPSI and didn't get a hit.  It was pleasant out and the breeze kept the bugs at bay, so I took my time before I headed in.

GOMH This Morning

12" YumDinger (Brown)
5:30-6:50AM GOMH NE SW SE
70℉, PC, 0-3mph E

I was getting my stuff set up when Leech Guy showed up. He came down next to me on the NE side and caught a small jumper on his first cast.  I had a fish take a swipe at the SBKO. I caught it a few minutes later with the Yum Dinger.  I gave the fish to LG. He caught another jumper and I headed to the SW side.  I got one jumper there on the YD and missed a bite on the SBKO and had a dink jump me off on the YD.  I had three quick hits in the slop on the SW side when I threw Sweet Revenge there.  Didn't hook up once.  I wasn't ready for the bite I got on the SE side which came shortly after my frog landed.  I fished NE side slop and didn't get a bit.   Found out LG name is Richard.  I left a little before 7AM
