The Crew (Sophia, Mallory, Belle, and Todd)
Sophia's 1st Ever Crappie 10" Panfish Tube
Todd and the girls  came back up today plus Flash and the girls good friend Sophia.  After two trips out tubing the wind finally settled down and I took the crew out fishing minus Kristen and Flash.

As you can see from the pics in this post the fish were cooperative.  Water Temp was down the 76℉.  It was much cooler today with temps only reaching the Low 70's and we got maybe 1/2 of rain between a couple of brief thunderstorms this morning.  Isabelle did get a pike and crappie. The crappie was a good one that flopped off as she lifted it out of the water and the pike which was 23-24" class slipped out of Todd's hands and into the lake before anyone could get a picture.

Perching With Mal/Frogging By Myself

Mallory and I managed to catch 7 perch between us (5 Mal 2 Me), while Todd made breakfast.  Another storm this morning kept Todd and I from getting out.  Todd did get out for a little while without me.  I don't remember if he said he caught anything or not.  My trolling motor lift lever broke, but is still somewhat usable; Stupid plastic parts.  I took the girls out for one last tube trip, while Todd cleaned up.
16.75 Mad Maxx (Sweet Revenge)
8:00-9:45PM Loon Sex Bay
Conditions: 80℉, Partly Cloudy, Very Windy NW becoming manageable
Water Temp: 77℉

It was a hot and humid day.  I slept for most of it after the girls went home.  I almost didn't go out in the Trophy with the way the wind was blowing.  I wanted to fish over towards Jenny's, but the wind wasn't having that.  I took a chance that it was a NW wind and ran to Loon Sex Bay.  It was sort of protected there.  There was a deck boat fishing in the NW corner, but out from the slop. I pulled in just SE of them.  I had a nice pike come flying out of the water on my first cast.  I didn't set the hook and it came off.  I missed the first blow up quite a ways in the slop.  The deck boat left.  I put a cast over the open water and the 16.75 grabbed it.  The second bass of the night missed the frog the first time.  I positioned myself better to get a shot at it and caught it (14").  I caught a 14.66" as I started working my way West.  On the very next cast I set into a big blow up.  It was a pike and it stole Sweet Revenge.  Rather than retie I went to a back up rod with a Bobby's Perfect on it.  I got a 16.5" on that.  I had a couple few hits tonight from probably small fish.
4 Bass (16.75,16.5,14.66,14)

More Fishing With Todd & The Girls

10.75" SBKO
A thunderstorm prevented Todd and I from getting out at first light.  I went to the GOMH about a half hour after the rain stopped.
12" Armor Worm on Ike's Wacky Head
I caught a bunch of dinks there.  I then went and woke Todd up and we went out for about an hour and a half; That is when the first picture was taken.
19" Pure Poison/Swim Fluke Jr.

14.9" Terminator Frog

16" Mad Maxx
I took Todd out to South Point Small Island for some topwater fishing.  A few small fish lightly hit at the Pompadour.  I then gave Todd a lesson on walking the dog with the Shower Blows knock off.  He had one good blow up miss it, one good one get off and he caught the dink in the very first picture.  We then headed to Loon Sex where we both got a bass on frogs.  The sun came out and we had to head in.

It was a hot day with temps in the upper 80's.  I took the girls tubing for a good portion of the afternoon.  We went to the Mann Cave for pizza.  I took the girls out for another short trip on the tube and then we all headed out fishing.
Mallory 1st on the board
A second after the pike flopped off the spinnerbait
It landed in the boat
Mallory's Sunfish for her dad
Belle's 1st landed fish of the trip
Belle settled down and got in a rhythm getting two pike
Todd had plenty of blow ups, but didn't land a fish.  Mallory had pity on him and landed a fish just for her Dad.  Isabelle had a good size pike hit on the buzzbait she was fishing subsurface.  I didn't see how big it was.
I caught a total of 4 Pike, Mal got 4 Sunfish, Belle got the Sunfish and was credited with 3 pike.

It really turned into an ideal night for fishing.
The pathetic weight of bass for the day

Fishin' With Todd & The Girls

7" Puddle Jumper/Worm
8:15-9:25PM Out Front In the Trophy
Conditions: 80℉, Partly Cloudy, Light SE wind
Water Temp: Mid 70's
We got the pontoon boat launched today, but it wasn't ready for prime time.  It only started at full speed in forward and steering directions are reverse from normal were a couple of the major issues.  Dad worked on it while I took the girls out tubing behind the Trophy.  Boat traffic crashed at about 4:30 as people ended there holiday weekend.  At about 6PM I was ready for a break and needed to get more gas, so I went and did that.   We had dinner after I got back.  Todd had put a hole in the tube, so there was no more tubing tonight.  Instead I took Todd and the nieces out fishing.
8" Puddle Jumper/Worm
I took us out to the inside turn on our side of Jenny's reeds. Mallory was the first to catch a fish.  She hooked and landed it all by herself.
Terminator Frog
Todd had a blow up that missed his frog.  A few casts later he got the pike from a different area.
Isabelle Grace
9" Beetle Spin/Puddle Jumper/Worm
Isabelle didn't want to be left out and wasn't when she landed this crappie.  My memory card was full after I took the picute of her holding the fish.  I had to erase a few pictures to get the final one's of the night.
8" Puddle Jumper/Worm

6.5" Puddle Jumper/Worm

At around 9:10PM I took the boat out from West Point to get a look at the sunset, but there was a thick cloud bank on the horizon so we couldn't see it.  I took the bobber off of 'the snoopy pole" and we got a few gills vertical jigging. A fun time was had by all.

Morning at the GOMH/Afternoon With Pete

Close Call
It is now July 24th and I still haven't gotten this blog done and I erased most of the pics off of the Flash card and I don't feel like digging them out of the cloud.  I basically went fishing at the GOMH without Pete because he didn't want to get up.  Fishing was pretty good.   I got 5 bass on the Shower Blows Knock Off; the biggest of which was 17 inches.  I also lost a good fish on the Schroomz Jig.  My success made my enthusiasm for getting out with Pete in the Trophy plummet.  I ended up getting back to the house and let him sleep.

Todd and the girls arrived at the lake place just before Pete and I arrived.  Pete got a bass on the Terminator Poppin Frog.  We went out in the boat in search of panfish.
Basically, Pete taught me a way to catch trolling them that I may or may not ever use.  We didn't have much success, too many loose floating weeds around.  As that I barely got any sleep the previous night I was too tired to go out in the evening.  Pete and I did drive into Pierz to get a paper for Mom around sunset.  I felt guilty about being with Pete rather than out at the Lake with the girls.  It worked out as they paddle boarded out to see the sunset and Pete left on the 4th. I spent plenty of time with the girls over the next week as they came up 3 times.

Frogging With Pete Again

17" Spro Poppin' Frog (Black/Red)
6:30-9:30PM Loon Sex Bay Platte Lake
Conditions: 74-70℉, Most Sunny, Light NW Wind
Water Temp: 72℉
17.75" Bobby's Perfect (Sparrow)
So apparently Pete prefers the light weight and castability of the supposedly under powered Tatula to the cork handles and power of the 7'3" MH Avid which is a broom stick by comparison.  I'll see what he thinks of the XH Zillion tomorrow.

I took him to Loon Sex Bay because that is where he talked about fishing yesterday.  The slop looks great in there and was alive with baitfish.  It's been a couple weeks since I was last there.  Some kids were fishing out of a small aluminum fishing boat and needed to borrow some pliers.  I let them keep them with the agreement that they would give them back when they were leaving.

Pete missed the first hit of the night as I was starting to move out to the kids.  We saw a lot of little bass swimming out on the slop edge.  I missed my first hit as well.  The kids came and gave back the pliers about a half hour later when we were in the NE corner.  Pete got the 17" shortly after that on the black/red Spro Popper.  It was hung up on some pads and we had to go get it with the net.   I think Pete lost his next two fish and I got a good sized bowfin most of the way back before it got off.  The bowfin gave it's position away to me.  Pete then got a 16.25" fish on the Spro Popper.
16" Bobby's Perfect (Sparrow)
I got my first fish near the tip of Loon Sex Point where the pads and rice intermixed.  A pike bit off the Spro Popper Pete was throwing and we didn't find it.  We started working back over water we already covered and Pete got a 16".  I got a 15.5" and this skinny 17.75"
17.75" Bobby's Perfect (Sparrow)
I got a 15.5" and Pete got the last fish of the night with this 16".
16" Terminator Popper
I missed a blow up about 15' feet from the boat.  Pete was not impressed when the frog went flying by him at mach 4.  Pete missed the last blow up of the night when he landed on top of one.
Pete fished as I was slowly driving us out of the bay
We got quite a fireworks show on the way back.
Didn't have the scale cleared from last night
As that I didn't have the scale cleared from last night when we went out tonight with a fish waiting to be weighed and my first three attempts to clear the scale not working I just added to last nights weight.  I didn't think at the time that I could remove the weights one at a time, Duh!  The 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 8th weights were from tonight's fish.

Slow Morning/Frog Fishing with Pete

I took a trip in the morning where I fished at the GOMH from shore and at SPSI out of the Trophy Obviously.  Here is what I caught and on what this trip from 6 to 9:30AM:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Green Cabin Bay Fish
Pete showed up and I took him to the NW area of the lake.  It wasn't really happening in Green Cabin Bay other than me getting one good fish there.  Pete lost a good one on Chuck's Point in the reeds.  At which point he complained the Tatula 7'4" frog rod isn't stout enough to handle this kind of fishing.
18" Bobby's Perfect
I caught this 18" a little ways beyond Chuck's Point as we fished our way to the NW corner.  Pete ended up not landing a good bass. Karma for insulting the Tatula Rod methinks.
This what I caught
And this is my best 6 for the day.
