4:15-6:30AM GOMH NE SW
7:00-9:30AM Mille Lacs Eddy's North Jetty
Conditions:  58-63, mostly cloudy turning cloudy, calm to light SE wind
10.25" H2O XPress Wake Bait
Not much was going on at the GOMH this morning.  I busted my pink X-Rap (8)  I got the one jumper on the NE side on the Wake Bait and I got a 14.25" jumper on the SW side on the Strike King Slither Rig with a Rage Space Monkey. I probably should have left for Mille Lacs half an hour earlier.
17.25" Jerk Shad Crackle
At Mille Lacs they didn't want the Whopper Plopper or Red Eye Shad, but a couple fish fell vicitm to the Crackle fished on the Muse Gold Rod. The first one came outside of the North Harbor Mouth and the bigger fish came to the North of the of the Harbor Mouth a little ways.
15.66" Jerk Shad Crackle

8:40-11:00PM GOMH SW NE
Conditions: Low 60's to mid 50's, Cloudy, light to moderate NE Wind, Perfect because there were no bugs
14.5" Poison
I was surprised no one was at the GOMH.  I'll take that every time.  I got the skunk out of the way on the Pure Poison and I missed a couple of bites on the Slither Rig.  I went over to the NE side in ideal conditions for some gold.  I got one nugget anyway.
22" Jerk Shad Crackle
Unfortunately that was the only bullhead.  It sure nailed the Crackle.  It was released.

Morning And Evening GOMH Trips

Recollected on Sunday the 8th

I didn't take any pictures.

6:45-9:00AM GOMH SW NE
Conditions: 58-70, wind out of the South, mostly sunny

I got a late start due to not waking up to my alarm.  I was briefly alone and got one jumpin' bullhead before another fisherman showed up.  I missed a couple of bites and had a jumper jump me off on THE Jig and a minnow.  Another guy showed up and the original  guy left.  I went to the North side to see if I might toad up a dogfish.  I got one small jumper and had a toothy strike at it, no sign of any dogs.  I left and went to Bear Trax to buy more minnows as after last night's trip I was starting to run low.

8:15-10:00PM GOMH SE
Conditions:  Hot day but turned cooler by the time I headed out,  Became very windy out of the NW, mostly sunny turning mostly cloudy and even had a brief sprinkle.

When I went to put the minnows in the car I discovered that practically all the minnows I bought were dead. Must have been thermal shock maybe. Not happy about it.  When I arrived at the GOMH nobody was fishing on the SE side so that is where I went.  One guy was fishing on the SW side and he hadn't gotten anything.  I started out by getting rid of the dead minnows.  Then I started throwing the Swim Shad.  I quickly hooked up with a big jumper that jumped and got off.  I didn't realize how big until I saw it.  Easily a 4lb class fish, maybe even a 5.   I cast out again and quickly hooked up with a small toothy.  I got another small toothy casting towards the bridge and the guy across the way got a fairly nice toothy.  A bullhead fishermen started casting off the bridge. It got dark enough so I switched to the lighted bobber.  The guy on the other side left and the bullhead fishermen left.  A guy and a lady dangled a line straight down off the bridge.  I could hear fishermen on the North side catching some kind of fish.  The wind really started to howl.  The guy on the bridge caught a really nice golden bullhead.  I didn't have a strike and left at 10PM.

Broke Skunk Streak & Got 1st Open Water Crappie

15.5" Storm WildEye Swim Shad
6:15-8:10PM Rock Dock
8:20-8:40PM Bulldog
8:50-9:50PM GOMH
10:05-10:35 Bulldog

Conditions:  Warm 76-67 degrees, Windy out of the SSE, Mostly sunny, but hazy

I accidentally put the 6'3" Avid Spinning Rod in the car instead of the Muse Gold.  I wanted to get a picture of me fishing with the Muse.  .  Both rods had a 2" Storm Swim Shad on them, but the Muse doesn't have a Rod Glove yet, Duh.  I caught two bass (15.5",14.75") at the Rock Dock on consecutive casts on the Swim Shad.  I switched up to T.H.E Jig with a minnow and caught 15.75" about 15 minutes later.  Then it was about an hour before I got one last 13" bass on the Swim Shad.

I headed to Bulldog to see if anything was there and I pulled up a 9" Crappie on THE Jig.  The Cannon wouldn't work for me to take a pic and I forgot I had the Polaroid on the tackle bag, so no pic.   It was getting pretty dark and I wasn't getting anymore bites I headed to the GOMH.  No body was there.  No fish  there either.  I headed back to Bulldog and tried with minnows with a Cubby.  Pete called about the battery in the pole barn.  I might have missed one bite.  I left at 10:35 when my minnow was gone

New Rod, Nice Weather, No Fish

Didn't have the good sense to take a pic at the lake.  Duh!
5:30-8:00PM
Conditions: Mostly sunny, warmer 60 degrees, Light SE wind

The replacement 13 Fishing Muse Gold rod arrived today;  It's the 6'9" Medium Light.  It's a very sensitive rod with a crisp blank.  It will work great with small jerkbaits, small jigs, jig worms, grubs, small swim baits, Panfish Chatterbaits, drop shotting, Beetle Spins, Ned Rigs and more.

It got to about 63 degrees today.  I ran into Lantern Man at Lakes Market this morning.  He was out last night and didn't get anything.  The warm weather didn't bring the fish anywhere.  I started by going to see what was happening at the GOMH.  There were guys on both sides of the bridge catching nothing.  I then went to Bulldog, nothing.  Then to Rock, nothing. Back to Bulldog, still nothing.  Then to the bridge.  Peter was there with a couple of his friends and was about to leave.  Since I had minnows he stayed.  We didn't get anything.  We saw a boat go out from the West Access and we could see lights and hear a generator.  When I left I went to check it out.  MN DNR must be shocking for bass tonight as it was a DNR truck.

Confidence I'm Going to Catch Anything Shot

5:45-7:15PM
Conditions: 38 degrees, NW Wind, Cloudy, light snow

I thought maybe with the NW wind I might get something at Rock.  Not even a nibble.  Even though I had zero confidence I went to the GOMH.  A boat was making it's way there when I was unloading my gear.  I fished for maybe 20 minutes and left.

I got the 13 Fishing Muse Gold Rod I won on their weekly contest last week in the mail today.
